My Creative Art

1. Picture with my son on a horse: This picture shows a strong line example by looking at the background and the horizion. The hills in the background show a line that makes the viewer's eye follow from right to left. This picture is also very site specific because it was taken at a specific time and place.

2. Picture with my two daughters in black in white: This picture is an example of hatching because they are all parallel lines that are darker when drawn closer together and lighter when drawn further apart.

3. Picture with my daughter carrying Texas flag: This picture is an example of negative and positive space. The negative space is the blurred background and the positive space is my daughter, her horse and the Texas flag.

Art Appreciation

First off let me say when I heard art I ran the opposite way I could not stand it. I hated Art with a passion. I could have an Art bashing right now but after the few classes I have attedned they would be lies now. See before this clas the only art that really mattered to me was Theater! I t just seemed logical to me, no one ever told me that even if you can't draw a circle that you could appreciate art now I look forward to seeing the differt types of images that 9 times out of 10 we see each and everyday. So by me learning things like abstract art and lines and shading and the colors omg! it just fill in a hole that I guess was meant for some of the "finer" things in life

Frida Kahlo

Frida Kahlo was born July 6, 1907 in Mexico City. She grew up in a home that was called the bule house or casa azul with her two brothers and two sisters, mother and her German immigrated father who himself was a photographer. As she was growing she became more politically active but while traveling a tragic twist came into occurance for her to be considered one of the greatest painters. Frida begin painting as a way to get over her pain after her injury in a bus accident. while getting back to the political life Frida ran into Diego Rivera who soon married and traveled all over... and many separations came about after his affair with her sister. Frida stated that she never paint dreams or nighmares but reality. and that's exactly what she did

This is my Creative Art

A) 1st picture.  This picture was taken on a fishing trip in Kemah this past weekend. The water was calm, and the smooth waves plunged against the sharp jagged rocks. The crow look so optimistic for a scavenger. I found that this picture spoke loud and clear of our world today. Water calm, Smooth waves, Jagged rocks, Scavenger hunt...

B) 2nd picture. This picture was also taken on our fishing trip. I call this picture the unseened American this homeless man park his home right where we were fishing. When 30% to 40% of people that is homeless is done by choices. In every choice their are prose and cons when even the smallest choice makes the biggest effect. Some of us have a mortgage and rent when this man has the opposite  side of the coin. He has the opportunity see natural art.

C) 3rd picture. This picture was taken at work in my office. sometimes we look so hard at what we dont see; and what we really need to see is right in front of our eyes. I challenge any student and our Professor Ms. De Vries to intrepret what do you see? what does it say? why wood ?

The bottom photo was taken from the Chase building in downtown Houston. I was visiting a mentor and tookm the photo from her office. From above, I gained interest in the way the world appeared from above versus the way it appeared as I roam the streets from a "face to face". Also, in this photo we can focus on the way the skyline touches land. I saw a lot in this photo that relate's to what we've learned so far. The world is so much more than what we see up close. To me, this photo says that people should be open minded and remember that there's alot more to the world than what appears direct.

The second-bottom photo was captured from my home. After leaving the shower, I noticed the way the shadow of the light from the bathroom graced the walls of the bedroom. This picture defines the way a shadow represents the reflection of light and how light changes color. Notice the wall is originally, an off white color, however, the reflection of the light gives the wall multi shades of charcoal, grey and almost off white in different places depending on the distance and area of the light.

The first and second photos are of my boyfriends "slab line", Greyline. Lol. I always take pictures of their rides before they head out for the clubs and do shows. In these photos, I wanted to define the way objects appear smaller as they move further away from the focus point. Although the photos I capture of the Greyline rides are normally for entertainment and self-documentaries of our street life, I am now beginning to appreciate photos and see them as a work of art in ways outside of recreation.

Creative Art

1.Picture taken driving down the road: This is a picture I took driving back home from Waco. This picture represents implied line because when seeing this picture, your eye follows the yellow line drawn on the road from the left side to the right side of the pic. Then your eye goes up to the other side of the road and follows the right side back to the left side where the car is.

2. Picture of two girls standing in mirror: This picture is a photo of me and my sister in Academy. We were standing in front of a mirror that changes your shape, making us look a little abstract. Looking at the photo, you can see it is two girls but there are enough characteristics about us that makes us look different than we would in real life or in front of a real mirror.

3. The picture of the shadow on the floor: This picture was taken in the morning when I was at work. The sunlight was coming through the blinds casting a shadow on the floor and this photo reminds me of positive and negative space. The bright sunlight is the positive and the shadow part is the negative.

Beverly's Creative Art!

A. (1) This picture was taken this past weekend on a fishing trip to Kemah. If you notice this picture has a crow looking for a scavenge! any animal that devours.. at the same time there is the sound of calm waters plunging the jagged rocks while he awaits. I found it very amazing to see white rocks in the wings as the water continues to flow. WOW!!

B.( 2) In this picture homeless is art. While we were fishing this homeless man planted his home right where we were sitting, as I begin to fish I really took a look at how he propped his home against a tall white beam which held him and all his things very steady. I could smell his body odor of rain, dirt, and dew. Then I saw beauty! when his things were neatly stack as though he had his own agenda for weeks to come.

C. (3) In this picture its call WHAT DO YOU SEE? , WHAT DOES IT SAY? I challenge the entire class to answer this question. This is one the most creative pieces of art Ive ever seen.

Nature/Man Made Art

OK, the first image is a steel tree behind a real tree trying to make them look like one tree. The second is a humming bird feeder made to look like a lamp. The "lamp shade" is actually a dog collar. The third and my favorite is inspired by Halloween. It's a zombie head peaking through a grass plant.

My Pictures...

I took the 1st picture to represent analogous color. Numbers 1 and 3 are next to each other on the conventional color wheel. Yellow (1) and Yellow-Green (3). Gabriel Orozco's supermarket experience inspired me to take this picture.

After watching Jessica Stockholder's PBS documentary I was inspired to experiment with hangers. This is a picture of two hangers I untwisted then twisted back to form a woman looking down at a baby in her arms.

After playing with my two year old son, I was putting his toys away and realized how pretty all the shapes and colors were when they were all together. The blue car in the middle stands out to me as the main bold color and the rest of the toy's colors are multi color highlights to the bold blue. I placed them close to each other to form a playful collage.

I took the 4th picture because it was interesting to look at while waiting at a red light. ( I was a passenger) The tree tops look as if they are touching the sky. The color of the sky is so bright against the dark trees.

I took the 5th picture because it reminded me of security. Security as in "feeling secure and safe". The leaves are wrapped around the steel pole holding on to it. If the leaves were to be on the ground they would turn brown and die like the grass you see in the background. Being securely wrapped around the pole, the leaves are alive and blossoming.

1. the picture at the top left remains me of art work done by Andy Goldsworthy, where he uses tree branches and twiggs and connects then in a form of a circle.

2. the sand or pebbles are used here to show how earths surface is as for as sand is concerned. To get the right amount of the substance to looka s it does takes skill and precision.
3. Now this also remain me of Goldsworthy work. This is a nest in a tree. Now the artist in this one comes from nature; a bird. It takes time to collect the twiggs and however, by nature, the bird can precisely construct a semi-round formof shelter.

Pictures

Picture 1). In this picture, what I am trying to represent is that the white plain background gives the object and the green apple a different perspective. The white background with the white transparent glass shows more shadow. I used the white background as the negative space and the object and green apple as the positive space.

Picture 2). Similar to picture 1 but placed in a different background, changing the color of the background (negative space) shows how the main object ( the positive space) can dramatically change in detail. In this picture we now have a darker background that shows less shadow on the glass and is more direct on what its trying to show the viewer.

Picture 3). Shows a red apple and a green apple with hearts cut out. The cut off hearts were then placed on the opposite color apples, making the shapes stand out more. The meaning that the picture is showing is that when the negative space is a different color or shape the view and understanding of the art changes.

My art

I always liked this form of art a lot more. Wherever I go I'm always taking pictures of patterns and things that look interesting. In my first picture you can see the mixer at my church. I really liked the patterns and specially the angle from where I took this photo

In the second picture I have my jeans in the washer room. Once again, turning something as ordinary as doing laundry into a form of art. At last I have some pineapples. This image caught my attention because not all pineapples were put in the same order and it made the image way more interesting.

HW and my Views

I had noticed a crack on my windshield and was mesmerized as how such a tragic event had left behind such a mark. Where there was peace, now there is chaos, but at the same time a feeling of amazement at the star shape left behind from the impact. The lines are so well defined that they and give the image dept.
I was sitting on a moving vehicle when i suddenly glimpsed out the window to see this beautiful transition into the darkness that was soon to follow. There is a high amount of contras between the light and dark parts of this image. It transitions from a light sky to a more clouded one but even in the immense clouds some light broke through and displaced the surrounding darkness, but as we move further on to the left the light fades and darkness reigns victorious once again.
There is a disturbance and distortion of reality here.Rarely does someone keep a spoon handy, especially next to a toothbrush. There is also conflict between the two objects, even tho they may both enter our mouths, one takes while the other gives. With this said the spoon provides us with away to intake many foods, while the toothbrush provides a way to remove any unwanted remains left behind.

my Art!

On my first picture you'll see a pencil holder but its holding more than just pencils. I took the picture from the top so that u will be able to see the space and shape of what the items are actually sitting in. I did this while at work. I wanted people to see the day of teacher. The bucket to me represents different students of all different color, size, and length but yet all together they fit well with each other.

On my next piece I once again was at work and with the kids I told them to creative something with what they seen around the room. This was one of my favorites. A lot of my students used big items like toys, chairs, paper, books, and there backpacks but this on group went to my desk and took my writing pen and some paper clips and created this. I think it shows shapes within a shape and the darkness of the rug made the colors pop out more. I you look closely you can the different color flowers they put inside. It's like there on little garden.

The last piece was one I did again at work but it was suppose to be done for breast cancer awareness month. We decide to give our mothers cupcakes and pink lemonade with information to get the word out about getting check for breast cancer. As I was decortating the table I found a cute picture to take of the cupcakes. There was one big circle with these circle cupcakes with there whirl into circle forsting.  If you was to look they make one of them target pratice sheets.

My Art Work

1. My first picture was kind of interesting to me because I put it together from objects that were on my backyard. I noticed the bucket of popcorn  that was empty and then saw a bag full of coca-cola cans. It's interesting to me because some people call a coca-cola "pop" or "soda pop", and that's the first word on the bucket, which is "pop". I called this piece of art "Pop Coke" instead of Pop Corn, and to me the cans are emphasizing space on the bucket of popcorn instead of being your ordinary popcorn in it.

2. I saw this beautiful art piece that caught me attention at a furniture store. It consists of forks and spoons, that were put across from each other. To me the forks and spoons are creating lines in a form of an X. Also the space between the forks and spoons represent the negative space between them, because they are empty spaces that acquire a sense of volume and form by means of the outline or frame that surrounds them.

3. The third and last picture is basically an orange bucket filled with white towels. The towels are representing the space taken up inside the bucket, making the bucket look full, but with towels.

My Creative Art

This is my creative art!!!!

A) 1st picture: Its a picture i took because it shows how by creating a shape in the pumpkin is really nothing, but after adding light inside the pumpkin it brings out the shape created, which makes it even more clear when its put in the dark.

B) 2nd picture: I took this picture to show the negative space, because even though they are all apples the green apple stands out among all the other red apples.

C) 3rd picture: This picture shows a fruit baskett that among all the fruits there is one bitten apple that does not belong in the fruit baskett, i created this art because it also shows negative space because since the apple is bitten is stands out among the rest of the fruits rather than if it was not bitten it would blend in with the rest of the fruit baskett.

Creative Art

Gabriel Orozcos sees things and puts a different meaning to them for example on my the first one, I put some plums on a nest, rather than seeing some plain white eggs, why not see a fruit that makes the nest stand out less and  put more focus to the color of the plums.

The second picture grabbed my attention due to its formal and constant parallel lines, the leaves on this plant give me a sense of comfort and shade as if on a sunny day the best thing to do is to go and relax under it.

The third picture to me is very interesting  the cactus is growing in a line to the side  as it is growing the plant seems to direct to one side and gives us a form of a line, a implied line thats function is to line our sight the direction the figures compostition are looking.

This is my art work taken in my yard and in walmart's parking lot. This is what I call my creative art work.

(A.) I took this picture while standing in my yard Tuesday evening. I have a habbit of looking at God's creation every chance I get because It's beautiful. It's peace to me. With this picture I would say that there's an even amount of chiaroscuro because of the sun. The sky shows a light color (close to the sun) and it gets darker once it's further from the sun.

(B.)-This picture was taken in a walmart parking lot Tuesday around 1830 and it's a picture of my car and along with my sister's chevy aveo. I think this is a picture that shows a great deal of a positive shape and a balance of shadow alignment.

(C.)- This is a picture of a pair of sandals on the yellow lines at walmart store around also taken around 1831. This picture uses line, shadows and I feel that it also uses plenty of negative spacing.

My piece of art !!!!!!

FIRST SET

SECOND SET

THIRD SET

First set:

On the first set, I lighted up a candle and switched off all the lights in my house. I could see that the little fame on the candle bright up the whole area, which created negative and positive shape. The bright area including the fame and the candle itself is a positive shape, and the dark area on the background is the negative shape.

Second set:

On the second set. That red lantern was created on a piece of paper, it is part of Chinese culture. With a piece of red paper, an artist can form it in different shapes to make it become a lantern, then they use chains, adding images, words to make them look more fancy and interesting. The main thing was they had a space inside to put light in it to light up the lantern.

Third set:

I took the first picture with the distant that right on the bottom when I look up. I can see that the upper to the top, the darker on the faces, because the purpose of putting that blue light on the bottom was to create a fame for Christ's family. On the second one, as I moved the camera up to the top, the blue light kind of fade out and bright up, in that way, the fame was disappeared because dark and bright area blended together, all the faces lit up and I lost the feeling of a fame from the first picture. On the third one, I turned on a red light which light up the whole view. Turning on the red light also created a different view and feeling for the set. All I want to say on this first set is by setting the lights, changing colors, I could have different spaces, view and areas for the audiences when they enjoy thi pictures.
