Picture

At first when i looked at the picture all i thought that he was doin was jus taking a picture and adding color to it. I now know that he was trying to give us an accurate account of what wa goin on throughout the time period which made me recall that I was there ,but in reality I wasn't. This artist made a visual record of the people and the events of their time and place. Sometimes artist such as warhol arenot intrested in seeing things anew as they are in simply recording, accuratley what they see, for example a picture.

First class post

Think about the video "This is modern art" that we watched in class. Were you already familiar with the artists that Matthew Collings discussed (Picasso, Pollock, and Warhol)? If you were how has your opinion of their art changed after watching the video? If you were not, what planet are you from?! (just kidding of course) DId you have any other response to the video or the work that surprised you? Why?
What interested me was how much the myth of these 3 artists has affected how I have viewed their work. How much of their constructed characters made me like their art more than I would if I knew nothing about them. It made me think about Kanye West whose life story and persona is so tied to his music. I love his music but it helps that I also love his crazy pop star role that he plays. In his day Picasso was the equivalent of a rapper baller and I think that is another reason why people loved his work all the more. He gave them a window into a world of pleasure and luxury that they could imagine themselves in.
P.S. Feel free to give links to other images or videos to explain your answers. Remember these post must be around 100-150 words long.
***********Here are all of the videos for episode 1 (5 in total) which you will have to watch by next week.
